Abstract Many different foreign bodies have been found in the urinary bladder. Usually, these foreign bodies were self-inserted for autoeroticism, frequently in patients with psychiatric disorders. Here we report the case of a 34-year-old female patient who inserted a beading awl through the urethra into the bladder during sexual intercourse and was treated with open surgery. Key words: Female; foreign bodies; urinary bladder.
